Sports Day on 8th Dec, 2023 & 9th Dec, 2023 at St. Mary's English High School was days filled with enthusiasm, energy, and a strong sense of sportsmanship. The event aimed to encourage physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy competition among students. The day showcased a variety of sports and activities, bringing together students, teachers, and parents in a spirit of celebration.
The Sports Day festivities began with a vibrant opening ceremony, marked by the hoisting of the school flag and the playing of the national anthem. Students marched in disciplined formations, displaying a strong sense of unity and pride. The principal Fr. Vernon Herman D'Souza delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of sports in overall personality development and the values of fair play.
To add a touch of entertainment and cultural diversity, there were special performances (Dance Drills, Gymnastic displays, Pyramid formation, Karate captivated the audience and provided moments of relaxation amid the intense sporting activities. The day featured a diverse range of events catering to the varied interests and abilities of the students. Track and field events, including sprints, relays, sack race etc., showcased the athletic prowess of participants.
Ruby House was declared the Overall Champion and Topaz house secured the 2nd Runner up position in the Event.
